My name is Julie Elrod. I was born and raised in Griffin, GA, and moved to Valdosta, GA to attend Valdosta State University. I earned both my Bachelor's Degree (2007) and Master's Degree (2008) in Early Childhood Education/Special Education from VSU. I have previously taught grades K-3 and spent three years as an intervention teacher. I have been teaching since 2007. I started teaching in 2022 at Cook Middle School, where I currently teach 6th Grade Social Studies. I have one daughter, Savannah, who also attends Cook Middle School. I enjoy spending time with her and watching her cheer and dance. I believe that building relationships with students and parents is so important. I love teaching and making a difference in students' lives. I am looking forward to another great year at CMS! GO HORNETS!!
