Instructional Coach

Peggy Fulghum serves as the instructional coach at Cook Middle School.  This is her 47th year in education and all 47 years have been at Cook Middle School.  Mrs. Fulghum, better known as Sissy, has taught sixth, seventh, and eighth grade mathematics, as well as reading and social studies.

Mrs. Fulghum graduated from Cook High School and earned a Bachelor's Degree , a Masters Degree and a Specialist degree in Middle Grades from Valdosta State University.  She has also earned National Board certification in Early Adolescence Mathematics and Master Teacher in Georgia.  Mrs. Fulghum has been chosen as the Teacher of the Year for Cook Middle School three times and chosen as the district Teacher of the year two times.  

Mrs. Fulghum is married to Arthur Fulghum and they have two children and two grandchildren.  Kayla Craft, her daughter, and her husband Chris, both teach in Cook County and coach middle school soccer.  Mrs. Fulghum's son, Jonathan, is employed with Colombo NA in Adel as production manager. Mrs. Fulghum and her husband love to spend time with their two gransons, Caiden and jackson.  She is an active member of Antioch United Methodist Church and a member of Alpha Delta Kappa, an women's educator sorority.

As instructional coach, she strives to provide resources/strategies for teachers in hopes of helping all students succeed in the classroom.  She strives to help teachers to have all the materials and technology that they need to educate Cook Middle School students.   What ever needs to be done at CMS to make it the best school possible, she will do it with a smile.  Mrs. Fulghum is  in charge of the Student of the Week, quarterly programs for Principals Honor Roll students, and Honors Day program.  Incentives for attendance is also her responsibility weekly and quarterly.
